No one really anticipates performance reviews; especially when you’re about to get a bad one. Rebuilding Relationships
If you scored low on ”teamwork” and low on reliability, then it might be time to work on rebuilding your relationships at work. Building healthy relationships at work means you’ll have to update your manager and team on a task you’re working on or a project you’re supposed to complete. Your relationships at work will definitely improve when you interact more with your coworkers.
Ask For Ongoing Feedback
Believe it or not, asking for feedback doesn’t necessarily have to be a scary experience. None of us like to hear negative feedback, but sometimes, in order to improve ourselves, we have to learn from our mistakes. Schedule regular check-ins with your boss, and ask them for their input and advice on your work. This will help you stay on track and remain on the top of your game. Sometimes, your boss might bring something to your attention that you may not have been previously aware of. By asking for ongoing feedback, you’re demonstrating your interest in improving yourself, rather than just giving up.
Show Your Commitment
We all aspire to improve ourselves. However, our efforts will most definitely go to waste if you don’t commit to the changes you’re making. By showing your commitment to improve yourself, you are ensuring your boss that you have taken their remarks seriously, and you are working on becoming a better version of yourself. Rather than getting angry and vengeful, keep an open mind and tackle the comments you’ve received in a professional manner.
